M. JEFF BROWN – AUTHOR OF THE RAISING LIONS SERIES
HOW I BECAME A CHRISTIAN AUTHOR
MJeff Brown’s story is a testament to the transforming power of faith, perseverance, and divine calling.
In 1988, Jeff experienced a life-changing encounter with Jesus Christ at a Peter Youngren tent crusade. For more than six months, members of Abundant Life Fellowship had faithfully prayed for his salvation. Then, on his birthday, Jeff surrendered his life to Christ, beginning a journey that would profoundly shape his character, purpose, and destiny.
A pivotal moment came in 1990 when prophet Paul Yates visited Jeff’s community. During a brief but powerful ten-minute prophetic ministry, words were spoken over Jeff’s life that would dramatically alter his trajectory. What might have become an ordinary Christian journey instead became a season of deep spiritual formation. The years that followed brought challenges, personal growth, and the development of both character and ministry gifts.
In 1993, Jeff graduated from the “Atlantic School of the Kingdom” Bible School. Like many called into ministry, he expected immediate opportunities to serve. Instead, he entered a prolonged season of preparation, much like the Apostle Paul, who spent years being shaped by God before stepping fully into his calling. Though difficult at times, this wilderness season became essential to Jeff’s spiritual development.
Alongside his ministry journey, Jeff built a successful professional career as a Workplace Education Instructor, delivering nearly 11,000 hours of educational programming, and helping hundreds of business owners and employees get the skills they needed to succeed. He wrote all the curriculum for the programs he taught over the many years. His passion for leadership development eventually led him into pastoral ministry, and in December 2022, he was ordained as a pastor.
Committed to equipping others for ministry, Jeff facilitated three ten-month Victory Churches of Canada FastTrack Leadership Programs, helping raise up twenty-two new leaders at Abundant Life Victory Church. A fourth FastTrack program is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2026.
In the fall of 2024, Jeff received a clear prompting from God upon awakening from sleep: he was to write a book. Since then, he has dedicated himself to writing, and his third book is nearing publication.
