My grandfather used to tell me to watch what I say. He told me it is hard to take those words back.  When I was young, I wasted his wisdom. But when I became a Christian and gained several years of experience, I saw how wise his words were. It would have been good to put that wisdom into action early. He also said that hindsight was always 20/20. I cannot go back and get a do-over. But I can help you do better where you are at now.

When I started writing this book, it was like a perfect storm; a good storm, that is. I began to understand what my words were doing, and what they weren’t. When God spoke, His words created. When we speak, our words create, too. Many people do not understand this principle and suffer the consequences of speaking words of death. I hope this book helps you fix that. I’ve organized this book into simple, easy-to-follow chapters that address some of the most important questions believers need to consider when it comes to what they say. Each chapter explores a specific topic and helps readers discover the life-changing impact their words can have. Through these lessons, you will learn how words of life can bring hope, encouragement, and blessing, while careless words can cause hurt and discouragement.

Throughout the book, I have included many Bible verses to support the teaching and help readers grow in their understanding of God’s truth. I share these Scriptures in their proper context so readers can see not only the verse being discussed, but also the surrounding passages that give it deeper meaning. My prayer is that this approach will inspire readers to study God’s Word more carefully, looking at what comes before and after a verse so they can gain a richer understanding of His message and apply it wisely to their daily lives.
