Prayer Showed Me What To Write
It was impactful when God told me that I was going to write a book. I had heard that inner voice before. But when I heard tell me to write a book, I had to write it down in my book that contains our conversations. I had heard others say that God had spoken to them about a book. It was my time. It was time to figure out what topic I would write about.
As a pastor, I have to pray a lot. If you are a pastor, you will know this to be true in your life. There are so many balls in the air when it comes to ministry. And there are forces that are actively trying to cause you to drop those balls. So I began to seek the Lord on the book topic. As I prayed, I began to see needs within Abundant Life Victory Church. There were some noticeable gaps that needed to be filled. Those gaps were training gaps for new Christians and baby Christians. I began to see the need for discipleship training in our church.
In my previous business, I created my own courseware as a Workplace Education Instructor in Nova Scotia, Canada. The Lord helped me create relevant and impactful courseware for business technology, marketing, Microsoft, Google and website development 40-hour programs. I did this well for almost 11,000 hours of program delivery. I helped a lot of businesses over 16 years. The Lord helped deliver top training programs.
Now the shift came in 2023 when I became an assistant pastor. The Lord would take everything He taught me and charge me to apply it to the ministry and writing books. My business courseware was second to none. Now, it is time to write books that are easily understandable and actionable. There are too many books on the shelf that are not producing change. Why write a book that does not impact and bring about change?

It Must Be Useful
I wanted to create a book that I could use in a home group setting over several weeks. Paul wrote that there were 6 foundational concepts for maturing new believers. By faith, I followed this seed of an idea. Why? I did not see any written material on Hebrews 6 and I sensed this book should be written. I wanted to fill the gaps in my church. I wanted to help pastors and leaders fill the gaps in their church as well. The plan was to use this book for homme groups and if needed, to hand to new believers to get them growing.
As a whole, the church needs people to stop sitting and start serving. The church needs people to function in their gifts. If a church is going to grow, it needs qualified volunteers who can handle the heat when it comes. As a pastor, I understand that time is limited and I can only do so much. I want the Raising Lions books to help with the time constraints and leaders face. I want to books to help Christians mature in their walk.
So What’s In The Book?
I divided the book into easy to read chapters around each of the “Foundational” concepts. There are questions at the end of each chapter for the reader to refresh what they have learned. There is a lot of bible verses included to strengthen the learning. All included verses are found in context. The reader will gleam what the Bible verse says in the broader sense. I trust that the reader will learn to see what is before and after the main verse, so it is taken in proper context.
Here is Table of Contents of the book for you to understand how the book is laid out and what is included.

What’s In It For You?
Whether you are a pastor, a leader or someone who wants to mature in the faith, I want this book to help you grow and make a difference in the Kingdom of God. God told me to write this book. I did. Now, I want to see what this book does. I trust you will find this book useful and share it will others. It is time to the church to rise up. It is time for Lions to rise up and roar.
