THE CHURCH DOESN’T NEED MORE SPECTATORS
— IT NEEDS LIONS.

Many attend church yet feel unfulfilled. They long to do more but don’t feel equipped. As Scripture warns, God’s people perish from a lack of knowledge and a failure to act. But God has called you to great things—will you rise to the challenge?

This book is a rallying cry for believers to move beyond comfortable faith and embrace a bold, purpose-driven walk with Jesus. Rooted in Paul’s timeless teachings on building a strong spiritual foundation, it offers clear discipleship principles to fuel growth, deepen maturity, and unleash the lion God created you to be.

More than just a book, it’s a transformational tool for parents, mentors, pastors, and disciple-makers. In a world desperate for truth, we need courageous leaders—unshakable and bold in faith—ready to serve.

Prayer Showed Me What To Write

It was impactful when God told me that I was going to write a book. I had heard that inner voice before. But when I heard tell me to write a book, I had to write it down in my book that contains our conversations.

I had heard others say that God had spoken to them about a book. It was my time. It was time to figure out what topic I would write about.

As a pastor, I have to pray a lot. If you are a pastor, you will know this to be true in your life. There are so many balls in the air when it comes to ministry. And there are forces that are actively trying to cause you to drop those balls. So I began seeking the Lord about the book topic.

As I prayed, I began to see needs within Abundant Life Victory Church. There were some noticeable gaps that needed to be filled. Those gaps were training gaps for new Christians and baby Christians. I began to see the need for discipleship training in our church.

In my previous role as a Workplace Education Instructor in Nova Scotia, Canada, I created my own courseware. The Lord helped me create relevant and impactful courseware for 40-hour programs in business technology, marketing, Microsoft, Google, and website development.

I did this well for almost 11,000 hours of program delivery. I have helped many businesses over 16 years. The Lord helped deliver top training programs.

The shift came in 2023, when I became an assistant pastor. The Lord would take everything He taught me and charge me to apply it to the ministry and writing books. My business courseware was second to none.

Now is the time to write books that are easy to understand and actionable. There are too many books on the shelf that are not producing change. Why write a book that does not impact and bring about change?

Foundations: Creating a Hebrews 6 Disciple

DESIGNED FOR DISCIPLESHIP

I wanted to create a book that I could use in a home group setting over several weeks. Paul wrote that there were 6 foundational concepts for maturing new believers. By faith, I followed this seed of an idea.

Why? I did not see any written material on Hebrews 6, and I sensed this book should be written. I wanted to fill the gaps in my church.

I wanted to help pastors and leaders fill the gaps in their church as well. The plan was to use this book in home groups and, if needed, hand it to new believers to help them grow.

As a whole, the church needs people to stop sitting and start serving. The church needs people to function in their gifts. If a church is going to grow, it needs qualified volunteers who can handle the heat when it comes.

As a pastor, I understand that time is limited, and I can only do so much. I want the Raising Lions books to help with the time constraints and leaders face. I want to write books to help Christians mature in their walk with Christ.

So What’s In The Book?

I divided the book into easy-to-read chapters around each of the “Foundational” concepts. There are questions at the end of each chapter for the reader to refresh what they have learned.

There are many Bible verses included to strengthen the learning. All included verses are found in context. The reader will glean what the Bible verse says in the broader sense.

I trust that the reader will learn to see what is before and after the main verse, so it is taken in proper context.
